SEAM’s lighting design for Sundersea has received the 2025 LIT Lighting Design Award in the Industrial Building Lighting Design category. Designed by Tonkin Liu, the project demonstrates how industrial architecture can contribute meaningfully to the urban environment through clarity, restraint and the thoughtful integration of light. A carefully choreographed RGBW lighting scheme extends the building’s perforated façade expression into the evening, drawing inspiration from the movement of water and Sunderland’s maritime heritage
