SEAM expands into Bangladesh with Dhaka tower appointment

SEAM has been appointed to provide architectural lighting design for a major new tower development in Dhaka, Bangladesh, for leading developer Shanta Holdings.

Working in collaboration with Benoy and an international consultant team based across Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok and London, the project represents an important step in the studio’s expanding presence across South and Southeast Asia. The development is envisioned as a prominent addition to Dhaka’s evolving skyline and forms part of Shanta’s high-profile portfolio of urban projects.

The commission also resonates with the city’s rich architectural legacy. Dhaka remains closely associated with the enduring influence of modernist master Louis Kahn, whose work demonstrated how light, structure and climate can combine to create spaces of lasting civic presence. In this context, SEAM’s role will focus on shaping a lighting strategy that contributes to the tower’s identity within the wider cityscape while supporting the ambitions of a new generation of urban development.
